Fendi opened with a grey herringbone double-breasted coat in Prince of Wales check with deep mink cuffs on bracelet-length sleeves and this mix of sturdy serviceability and luxury set the scene for the rest of the collection. Karl Lagerfeld's clothes - bias-cut midi dresses and skirts, cuffed trousers and enviable outerwear - were mainly black and camel with pops of blue and a unifying red that came from the models' tall leather boots.  A repeating geometric pattern added interest to coats and dresses while '1925', the year the house was founded, appeared in Roman numerals on belts and cuffs.
