Kith

On our bucket list is visiting the venerable home Fallingwater designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. But here is a little-known fact: Lloyd Wright also designed clothes, in particular dresses worn by his first wife Kitty and some of his clients.

Lloyd Wright's career spanned 72 years during which he created over 1,000 designs. In recognition of this feat Ronnie Fieg, the founder of US streetwear brand Kith, has created these trainers with New Balance in collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation

Fieg's New Balance 998s take their cue from Lloyd Wright's 1935 project known as Broadacre City, a scale model built to represent his utopian vision of green spaces among urban landscapes and also mark the 35th anniversary of the style. The earthy colours of the trainers reflect the gold and rust reds used in the interiors and facade of Fallingwater.

Broadacre was a passion project of Lloyd Wright who continued to update and refine the principle until his death in 1959.
