Distilled and aged at a 120 year old Panamanian distillery, Bumbu XO rum is the first premium rum from the up and coming rum brand.
The small-batch rum is aged for up to 18 years in bourbon barrels and then finished in white oak sherry barrels from Spain. The result is an 80 proof rum that is perfect mixed in cocktails or on its own. The concoction is sold in a striking matte black ultra-heavyweight glass bottle with silver and white details - a work of art itself. Adorned with a tarnished metal "X" on the front and with a map of the Caribbean printed across the back, the bottled is topped with an old-fashioned, oversized cork that makes a resounding 'pop' when opened.
The original Bumbu Rum blend is based on an original formula created in the 16th and 17th centuries by sailors travelling throughout the West Indies. Using the same all-natural local spices and ingredients, and no artificial colours or flavours, the rum is an authentic revival of this piece of Caribbean history, distilled in small batches and blended by hand.
