Afro-centric furniture company The Urban Native has designed this beautiful curvilinear capsule seating collection.

Consisting of the Akaya Outdoor lounge chair and the pod-like Wambo chair, the collection references previous ones produced by The Urban Native. Akaya means 'at home' or 'home' in Xitsonga, while the Wambo chair features a series of repeated arched ribs which reference and celebrate the long Rapunzel-like (eembuvi-plaits) hair of the Mbalantu women of the wambo (ovaWambo) tribe in the 1900s in Namibia.

Pieces from this collection have been reworked specifically to withstand the outdoor environment. The chairs are made from stainless steel and woven mesh. The metal frames are available in several colours and its upholstered cushions can be ordered in four colourways of Sunbrella fabric which is specifically developed for outdoor use, is UV-resistant, water-repellent and will not fade in the sun.
