We were looking for a fun, comfortable summer sandal for children when we came across these. Called Avarcas or Albarcas o Menorquinas, these sandals by Pons are an updated version for the traditional footwear from Menorca first worn by countrymen and farmers.
The sandals are handcrafted from top quality and leather according to traditional methods. Originally, the sole of the Avarca was made from recycled tires, but today they are made using lightweight rubber molds. The resulting shoe is soft, supple and extremely comfortable. Colours now range from traditional black and brown to rainbow hues and metallic finishes.
