Codependent is Fletcher Eshbaugh’s new project for 1th Studio.
It is the first piece of a larger collection which is designed to be the physical manifestation of codependency. Eshbaugh’s concept is to bring together design and psychology. The larger black table has two legs, depicting the rescuer or enabler in a codependent relationship while the smaller white table with its one leg represents a victim.
The two tables have a physical effect on one another: the black table leans on the white and the white pierces the black with turned edge. Together, the conjoined tables reveal that both participants in codependency rely on each other.
