The joke is on us. Rather than being inundated with more shows than we could keep up with, we have found the start to this fashion month to be slow and without much to inspire. Luckily this collection by Ashlyn is keeping us from going dark all week.

We have always had a penchant for deceptively simple, architectural pieces and Ashlyn Park's collection for A/W 2025 with its rounded silhouettes and restricted colour-palette definitely fall within our wheelhouse. Park took her inspiration from the shape (and presumably colour) of the persimmon as well as a Korean wrapping cloth known as a bottari which, when tied, often takes on a rounded shape.

She showed cropped jackets and tops, some of which featured peplum and empire waists, paired with billowing skirts and trousers. Technical fabrics were used for trench coats and trousers while the curved and exaggerated sleeves found echoes in lapels and gently sloping shoulders. The softened shapes of her more tailored pieces indicate they are intended for someone with a gentler edge without losing any assertiveness.
