Floating Towers or Torres Flotantes by Cristián Mohaded is a vertical composition of three columns constructed of hand-woven volumes under the traditional basketry technique of northern Argentina called simbol.
Created as the centrepiece of the Encuentros space at the Córdoba Shows held at the Jockey Castle in Córdoba, Spain last April, the venue was designed in collaboration with José Luis Lorenzo, Josefina Roca, Nené Herbera and Santiago Lena as a place to encourage dialogue and texture through a meeting of materials and a diversity of artistic techniques that speak of plurality.

Simbol, the plant fibre chosen by Mohaded grows in the Argentine province of Catamarca, usually along the river banks in the area of the Calchaquies Valleys, the Quilmes and Tolomoye ruins, in the northwest of the country.
