The name 'Ambessa' means lion in the Eritrean and Ethiopian languages but is also used as a word of praise or encouragement to a child. The company's ethos is to make an effective and sustainable long term impact through a co-design process involving displaced out-of-school children in various countries. Every aspect of the kit was meticulously crafted based on the feedback and requests of the children themselves, and for every kit purchased, one is donated to a refugee child.
